The staff were friendly and, to my surprise, spoke excellent English, which made communication easy. The establishment was beautiful; it's a pity I couldn't stay longer to enjoy all the facilities on offer. I wasn't particularly impressed with the breakfast or the view. Overall, it was acceptable.

it isn't the first time I visit but it is the first time i have used uber and it is a game changer..i mean in a hot humid chaotic city, even a person who loves walking like myself has to give it up...the only places you can easily walk around in , are shopping malls (the best is Agora mall) and the ciudad colonial. i have been told it is not safe at night but tbh i havent had any problem but cant guarantee it could be safe for everyone..
everyone is at Malecon , sea promenade, after 6pm, jogging, relaxing and eating..mind you, the water is extremely contaminated and smelly..nevertheless this city has got something special which makes u like it...and most people are friendly.. i dined at Layali arabic restaurant it was amazing with beautiful decor..and tasty food..$$..also dined on the top floor of agora mall..plenty of food stalls..i had chicken teryaki with rice $..if you avoid all tourist traps and buy your presents in the not so known shops and eat in the not so touristy spots, you will save a lot..pls some street vendors are extremely poor and even if you dont wana buy anything, a small change will make them happy..i always keep 100 pesos notes in my purse..around a dollar. dont forget to visit boca chica, a natural swimming pool where the water is crystal clear..weekdays best..weekend too crowded..only approx 20 min by bus

Great place to visit if you want to dance salsa or bachata.
Great place to visit if you want to dance salsa or bachata. You can attend a good dance lessons there. The city center (Colonial Zone) is pretty small and mildly interesting, you can see the most interesting places in few hours. Use uber/bolt to travel through the city.

Best of Santo Domingo: The Gastronomy.
Best of Santo Domingo: The Gastronomy. So many amazing restaurants like Buche Perico, and Loretta Cafe Bistro.
Not great in Santo Domingo: All the Museums in Zona Colonial were closed due to renovations. ( At the same time!)

Loved the feel of the Zona Colonial where we stayed. Beautiful architecture and historical buildings. Interesting history. Guides on every street corner who with lots of pride and patriotism show you around. Visited Lago Los Tres Ojos really worthwhile. Lots of security. We felt very safe.

El Conde is a nice street to walk on in the day or early evening, just stay as far to the East side as possible. The beaches in Santo Domingo are filled with water garbage, go to Boca Chica if you'd like to actually get wet, but you better pack a lunch because everyone will try to rip you off for literally everything. China Town is nice, try to go during lunch hours on the weekend where they have amazing street food.

The owner/Host was very accommodating with a detailed tour of the entire house on every level. During the tour the host detailed the proper use of the pool functions and I was super happy that my girlfriend was allowed entry prior to my arrival to prep for me. I would definitely recommend this property for a stay.
The staff went above and beyond to make our stay great, they were helpful from check-in to getting the taxi to the airport. We were stranded by a huge storm and they managed to get us something to eat there even though the kitchen was closed. Cannot stress enough how great this stay was! Santo Domingo in general was a horrible experience and this hotel was our haven! Comfy rooms, nice pool, great breakfast, and the nicest people we found in DR! Also, the decor is 10/10!
It was a great experience to be in the Suite Colonial by Cristi. This boutique hotel has a beautiful location and offers a friendly service at a very fair cost. I loved the hospitality and the polite way of the whole team by the hotel. The hotel is clean and functional. There are so many places to visit around the hotel on foot. Definitively I recommend the hotel in the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo. Thanks, Manuel and his team. It was amazing.
This place is superb! The staff are lovely people and the facilities are just great. It's like staying at a vintage house, I absolutely loved it! And the breakfast is the best one I had in my two weeks travelling in The Dominican Republic. Plus, it is close to the best restaurants and spots to see in the Zona Colonial.
This hotel boutiquel is wonderful well located at the centra city of Santo Domingo. At waking distanc to a lot restaurants and places to go arround. the room was comfy and very clean, breakfast was stunning with a traditional Dominican gastronomy foods, very nice. I will coming back. The front desk was very friendly.
Great location right in the Colonial Zone in Santo Domingo. One block from main street. Easy to walk throughout the whole Colonial Zone. Very nice employees at front desk and breakfast. Breakfast is basic but nice if you are able to eat between 8am-10am. Strong A/C and free water is nice. Hot water shower worked fine.
I have stayed here several times and it is still excellent value for money. I use it when I visit Santo Domingo - usually to renew my Dominican Residency at the Immigration office on the Malecon. It's very hand for this and the Colonial Zone, although I have a car. Both are a long walk from the hotel.
The room is very comfortable, even for stays of several days. The breakfast is the best of this hotel since it is very varied, and the location of the restaurant makes it ideal to start the day. It is a clean, tidy place, very well located, making it a very good option to stay in Santo Domingo.
The staff was really nice. The room service was excellent and the food was tasty. The breakfast was really good. The rooms were nice and clean and modern. I have been to the Dominican Republic more than 25 times and this was by far the nicest hotel I have been in.
I have been visiting Santo Domingo regularly for the past 25 years. Overall, despite some customer-service issues noted below, the Embassy Suites remains one of the better hotels in Santo Domingo. The rooms are very large, spotlessly clean, and well furnished.
Great hotel, cosy and clean, big comfortable bed. Helpful staff. The hotel is located right in the center of the colonial area but it's very quiet and peaceful. Highly recommended. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit Santo Domingo.
I love that the hotel was central to everything in Santo Domingo North, near the auto bus station. I like the room decor. I like the airport service fee for $25.00 and I like the fact that they were very knowledgeable about things to do in the area.
The employees are very, very friendly and helpful. Whatever you need, you get it. They also speak good English, so it's quite easy to make yourself understood. The hotel has a familiär atmosphäre. I would stay there again, if I come to Santo Domingo.
I was referred to this super hotel by another Ex-pat after asking for suggestions on affordable, clean hotels in Santo Domingo. Hostel San Francisco de Asis is definitely well within those parameters. Great staff and location.
Beautiful palace-like old building well kept in good shape, but not optimal for modern hotel facilities. Quality service from staff. Very good central location in Zona Colonial. Swimming pool right next to the lobby.
The location was great. The hotel sits on Calle Conde which is the main pedestrian thoroughfare in the Colonial Zone. All of the main attractions of the Colonial Zone are within walking distance from the hotel.
Price was good for Dominican Republic. Most of the time we had more expensive hotels but quality was not much better. Hotel had warm water but water pressure was rather weak.
This is our go-to hotel for trips to Santo Domingo. The staff are amazing, the location is ideal and walking distance to everything and the restaurant is delicious.
nice hotel for a night stay in Santo Domingo. It was my second time there and I enjoyed it. It is near all the nice places in the Zona colonial of Santo Domingo.
